Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Bill Burnham has always been expressing himself artistically in one way or another. As a child he would build three dimensional trains out of cardboard and tape. Always intrigued with building, he became a cabinet maker, a career he enjoyed for many years. Designing and building custom furniture would eventually lead him into a long term career of designing custom kitchens. Bill also had his own business designing and building kitchen accessories from wood, wrought iron and stained glass, all aspects of which he created by hand.
Since the time Bill traveled through Switzerland and France as a teenager, he has always had a love for landscape and architecture. This, along with his never-ending love for the sea, has made Cape Cod one of his favorite places for creating the images he paints with such precise detail. The positive feedback about his work has been a consistent inspiration from the start. The phrase most often heard while viewing his work is “I feel like I’m there.” His paintings draw you in and his detail entices you to look even closer. Being an avid photographer, Bill is constantly capturing images that appeal to his senses. He then will spend whatever time it takes to create a painting that evokes the emotions that so inspired him to do that piece. His love for painting isn’t just recreating nature’s beauty on canvas, it’s the excitement of watching a painting come to life. Bill was accepted into the Copley Society of Art after only two years of painting. He has since gone on to win several awards, locally, nationally and internationally. Vertical Divider
